This years MVLL Hit-A-Thon is on Friday, June 5th at Boyle Park, starting at 3:30 and running into the evening. Building on the success of our inaugural event from last year, this year's event welcomes our new Farm players and adds a nightcap with our Juniors players in what's sure to be an electric Home Run Derby.
How does it work? Players get five tries to hit a ball as far as they can. The event is a fundraiser; players get pledges from friends and family, just like for a walk-a-thon. Funds raised are earmarked for field and equipment improvements.
Farm, AAA, Minors and Majors teams will each have a 15 or 20-minute slot (see schedule below). Each player on that team will come up to the plate and will get 5 balls to hit (tee or pitching machine). The longest hit by each player will be recorded by feet in 25-foot increments (e.g., 25-50-75-100-125-150-175-200 feet). After 5 swings, the next player is up. It’ll move fast!
HOME RUN DERBY - NEW FOR 2026!
MVLL is excited to host a Home Run Derby on June 5 just for the Juniors! The event will take place right after the Hit-a-thon! Every player who shows up gets to step up to the plate. We are also encouraging Juniors to Volunteer at the Hit-a-Thon event prior to the Home Run Derby.
HOW IT WORKS
This is a team competition — all players participate! Each batter gets 2 outs (anything that isn't a home run counts as an out). We'll tally up everyone's home runs and crown the team with the most, the winners. Prizes awarded!

• For safety, only Majors/Juniors players and coaches will be shagging in the outfield
For fundraising, each player has a page. Players ask friends and family to support them with a pledge – either a lump sum amount, or an amount by foot for the player’s longest hit; you can see our progress at the Fundraising Page.
The “competition” here is not how far the players hit, but rather how much we raise together. We have some amazing prizes: two weeks at Marin Mountain Camp; a week at Legends Baseball Camp; a Hitrax party at LaunchPad; team party at Super Duper; Giants tickets; and more! Prizes will be awarded to the teams that raise the most funds, and to the individuals that raise the most funds.
We still need some volunteers! It’ll be the most fun 90 minutes of your week. Please head to our Sign-Up-Genius and volunteer to help make the event a success! MVLL Juniors players and all High School students are welcome and we will sign off on volunteer hours for Honor-T eligibility!
