MVLL’s Field Prep program is an exciting opportunity for youth ages 12 and up (age as of 8/31/2026) to learn the techniques of field maintenance and game preparation in a fun and safety- conscious environment.  No prior experience needed – we’ll provide the hands-on training to help you perform the duties and have fun as a Field Prep Crew member. 

We treat this like a real job – MVLL Field Prep Crew members are expected to present themselves in a professional manner, schedule and arrive for their shifts on time, adhere to safety protocols and perform the tasks scheduled to ensure the fields are properly prepped for games.  

There are signup and training opportunities prior to the Fall Ball (September through October) and Spring (March through June) seasons. Field Prep must attend a scheduled training session prior to the season to qualify for participation in the program during the season. Additionally, there are opportunities to participate during All-Stars (through early July) for those who participated in either Spring or Fall.

Training sessions are scheduled for Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8, both at 12 PM - 1 PM, at Boyle.  You must attend one or the other session in order to participate in the Field Prep program in Spring 2026.
