MAJORS CITY CHAMPIONSHIP

Pirates 4, Cubs 0 — On Tuesday at Boyle Buena Vista, the Pirates turned to pitchers Ty Cerne and Henry Edwards to bring home the trophy, and the two hurlers delivered.

Cerne threw two shutout innings, facing the minimum six over just 12 pitches — and was greatly aided by two outfield plays, the first a running grab by Roberto Santo Domingo, the second a stab of a line drive by Max Castellano, to snuff out any early Cubs hopes.

From there, Edwards pitched the final four innings, striking out nine and sealing the deal. The Cubs mustered just three hits. Edwards also went 3-for-3 to lead the Pirates offense.

For the Cubs, Alex Radics pitched well, striking out nine.
